Opening your pad
PadPad stays hidden when it first launches. Bring it forward with your global shortcut, its menu bar item, or the Dock. The default shortcut is Option–Shift–B. You can change it in Settings.
Keeping your writing
Temporary drafts stay in memory. Save anything you want to keep with Command–S, or turn on Save automatically in Settings. Draft lifetime controls how long an unsaved draft stays available after you hide the pad. Quitting the app clears temporary drafts.
Files and formatting
Open and save plain text (.txt) or Markdown (.md) files. The Aa button shows formatting controls. Use the MD/TXT button to switch a new draft’s format; existing files switch through Save As, keeping the original.
The browser pad
The homepage is a small interactive preview. You can edit, format, copy, and download your writing. Refreshing clears it. The Mac app adds global shortcuts and native file workflows.
